Stories about love… and danger

Halloo out there! And a hearty welcome to my sales pitch! No! I mean, my website!

Okay, this is a brazen attempt to entice you to buy one of my books, First Kiss. You’ll like it. Why? Because:

  • The short stories – fiction and non – are… well, short. Perfect for those who are super busy OR have short attention spans (Look! A squirrel!)
  • One of the pieces was nominated for a National Magazine Award. See below.
  • Another story was reprinted by McGraw-Hill Ryerson in a book called Gender Issues. (But it’s not a stodgy story! I swear!)
  • Some of the pieces are funny. Some are poignant. Some are scary. You might see yourself in them. I hope you do.

Here’s the picture of me and my daughter that illustrated my award-nominated article which was published in Homemaker’s Magazine, Nov/Dec 1990. (I don’t have the actual photo, so you’re getting this! 😁) My original title was “Notes from a Middle-aged Marcher,” but the editor, Sally Armstrong, changed it to “Taking Back the Night.” Sally felt my story was a fitting postscript to all that had been written about the massacre of 14 women one year before.

Taking Back the Night is the last story in my book, First Kiss. I promise you, you’ll love the book, and will probably lend it to all your friends – or maybe even buy a copy for them. Which would be nice. Happy Holidays, everyone!
