The Grammar Cop is getting tired. Sick and tired, actually. Look, it’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it. Here we go.
Spooky
A few words in memory of Spooky, a sweet companion of mine…

1995 – Aug. 26, 2013
First of all, yes, I know the name doesn’t fit. I mean, look at him. Shouldn’t “Spooky” be a more fitting name for a black cat? You know, a witch’s familiar, that sort of thing? Short answer: yes. But he had that name when I got him in 2000 at age 5, so we were stuck.
Forever Cherished in my Heart

1912 – 2005
I wrote this eulogy for my mother’s funeral 10 years ago; my thoughts and feelings are exactly the same today as they were then. If anything, the love I feel for her now is even stronger, steeped as it is in the warmth of ten years’ worth of remembering. Mom, this is for you.

BooBoo (and Mom)
Next week will mark the 10th anniversary of the passing of my loving, lovable mother at the age of 92. I will write about her next week, but for now I’d like to pay tribute to her equally lovable companion, BooBoo.
The Lowdown on Confidence
[This was originally a writing sample for a guy’s mag.]
Dads, dudes, ’n’ dorks, I’ve met ’em all. So I’d like to share with you a few pearls of my hard-won wisdom.
Friday Follies #2 – 4 mistakes that make me go “Arghhh”!
Once again, I, self-appointed Grammar Cop, call out the media for this week’s goofs. As usual they were not hard to find (the goofs, not the media)!
First Kiss
A bit long – but I promise it’s worth it! 😉
