10th Blogversary!

Wow! It’s been 10 years since I started this grand adventure. Hard to believe, as it seems like just yesterday when I began what I thought would be a humourous grammar blog for online language junkies.

But the blog (My very first post is back here, if you’re curious: https://elliepresner.com/2015/06/28/hello-world/) eventually morphed into other types of writing. I continued the grammar dos and don’ts, but now they were collected under a separate menu item called Friday Follies. You can still read ’em (and weep! 😂) if you’re so inclined, here.

I ended my role as self-styled Grammar Cop in early 2021 out of sheer exhaustion. It became difficult to keep it going while I was working on so many other projects. (Between 2017 and 2019 I completed four books; they are sold on Amazon here.)

Over the years my blog expanded into a full-fledged website with six different menu items, as you can see up top. It’s given me an outlet for my scribblings, along with opportunities to (I hope) entertain readers. It’s been immensely gratifying!

Now I find myself at a bit of an impasse. I do want to continue this blog, but I also have other writing (as well as personal) commitments I must tend to. You know that feeling, when you work on “A” but you feel guilty, you should be working on “B”? But when you do “B” you feel guilty that you’re not doing “A”? That’s where I am at this point.

So I will take an unofficial “sabbatical” for a while. I may post something here if I’m inspired and time allows. Meanwhile, I thank everyone so much, whether you’re just dropping by, or hanging in for many years! Especially Anne, and Mer, and Chrissie, and Matthew, and Eilene, and so many, many more! Thank you all for caring, and for your astute comments. So long for now! 😘💗💞
