Before my flight from Montreal to New York was due to leave on August 26, I had no idea if it would actually happen, since Air Canada’s flight attendants were on strike. And I was sooo ready to visit my son Jeremy and his wife Lucy, as I hadn’t seen them in almost two years.

Well, in the end I got lucky (and so did thousands of stranded passengers all over the world), when a tentative agreement was finally reached and the workers returned to their jobs. Yay!

First things first! Here are a few pics of Jeremy, Lucy, and yours truly, in Southampton, NY. Oh, and Lolita, who still barks at me, but much less often than during my last visit!

Us

Next! I was super-interested to see their new house, built where the previous smaller one had stood. This larger place is stunning, fit for a magazine. Its façade is not ostentatious, but inside? I swooned, as I adore the modern look and the airy, spacious feel throughout. The soaring cathedral ceiling with its skylights open to the sun: spectacular.

None of us starved, as you see below. Thanks to Lucy and Jeremy, whether we ate in or out, everything was scrumptious!

Food

Stuff we did, apart from eating? 😂 Well let’s see… lots of walking, chatting, shopping (I didn’t buy a single thing, though – have you noticed our 72-cent dollar lately?); listening to salsa music at Tiki Joe’s, dancing, playing Scrabble (Jeremy won!!), cards (a version of Rummy 500), and TV (I saw “The Substance”! Must do a blog post someday on that crazy movie).

All in all, it was a relaxing and fulfilling little holiday. Thanks SO much for everything, Lucy and Jeremy! Just four days, but perfectly rejuvenating and fun, allowing me to recharge my Montreal batteries as I came home to my dear hubby John, who I suspect was rather happy to see me again! And I was glad to see him! 😁 💖🥰
