Literally.
When you’re young
the days, weeks, months and years
trickle along
like glistening drops of dew
upon the leaves…
or stretch for miles of
sand crystals
on endless golden beaches…
or flutter down,
down, and around
like fluffy flakes
of snow.
But now
When you’ve “matured”
to reach your
“golden age”
Time shoots like a comet,
whizzing past you,
Grazing your hair
– tinting it grey! –
in a millisecond
on its way
to leaving stardust upon
the earth
And you.
And now you know
You are a part of
the eternal
Circle of Time
And thus you will live
Sparkling bright
in the universe
Forever.

My father in law always said the following: “When you’re young, the days go fast and the years go slow. When you’re older, the days go slow and the years go fast.” Almost the same thing. He lived till 96. He had some slow days!

Beautiful poem. Yes, we’re all from and going back to the universe. It’s the circle of life. 🙂
