Here’s another little playful poem I wrote for my own kids many years ago. Comes with a built-in lesson at no extra charge! 😀
I wanna be a kid again!
Winter’s here in Montreal! Who loves winter the most? Kids! Why is that? No snow tires to buy. No icy roads to dread. No shoveling to do. So what’s left? Play!
Friday Follies #68 – Mixed-up mixups that, yes, make me go “Arghhh…”
…gghhhhh!” Okay, heh, sorry, I’m ready now. This week the Grammar Cop deviates a bit from her usual scenario of three-gaffes-and-three-corrections, just for a change. She is soooo tired of seeing the same word confusion over and over again.
Poems for Li’l Kids #1 – Danny the Dinosaur
People who know me best (okay, my daughter and son) know that I used to write poems. I wrote them when they (my kids) were very young, just to entertain them. At least they (the poems) started out as such, but over time I’d slyly work in a moral or two. Oh, not sternly, not with a thud, but with a ;-).
60 years: Then and Now – Part Two
Further to my 60 years: Then and Now post of three weeks ago, I’d like to talk to you today about television. I don’t know about you, but I get misty-eyed when I compare just a few of the TV-land offerings of 1956 with shows of today.
Friday Follies #67 – 3 mistakes that make me go “Arghhh”
Greetings, FF fans! The Grammar Cop spent a lot of time online this week, so two out of three of these English-challenged blunders come straight to you from the Internet.
The Value of Joining a Writing Group
This is an excellent piece, and is true for both newbies and experienced writers. Other people’s eyes on our work can be so darn helpful!
by Kyle Massa
Just the other day, I finished a first draft of a piece I was working on and thought to myself, This is pretty darn good. I brought that piece to my writing group a week later, and after fifteen minutes of critiquing, I was reminded of this fact:
The first draft is never, ever good enough.
Little reminders like this are why writing groups are so valuable. Writing alone and never sharing anything with anyone works for some people, but if you want to write professionally, that’s not really an option. Somebody’s going to read your work, whether that be family members, beta readers, or your editor. And, as solitary as writing can be, sometimes it’s nice to get some outside input.

SPOILER ALERT! Do not read this if you haven’t seen the movie. You have been warned! 😉
Friday Follies #66 – 3 mistakes that make me go “Arghhh”
Good to see you again, Friday Folliestas! This week the Grammar Cop brings you another trio of terrible boo-boos. And she is sorry she couldn’t find a synonym for “boo-boo” starting with a “t.” Ah well, such is life.
Book Progress Report #11
Hi all! As you will cleverly figure out, this is an update to my last update, which was Book Progress Report #10. If this seems like a never-ending process, that’s because it apparently is. (Insert eye-roll emoji here.)
