Further to my December 21st post on dating for the age-impaired, I thought I would point out some of the little gaffes that abound in the profiles I’ve been scanning lately. (Hope springs eternal!) These are direct quotes, copied and pasted – followed of course by my snarky comments in brackets.
The Grammar Cop is always alert to catch a variety of flubs – all things language-related, including misspellings, grammatical bloopers, homonym confusion and the like. I do not, however, bother with typos. All of us are guilty of those from time to time. Here’s a sampling of egregious errors from this week.
The Grammar Cop didn’t have to travel very far this time to find the Language Crimes of the week. Fittingly, they occurred in our local weekly rag, er, newspaper. Truly, folks, proper language usage is languishing. Ahem.
