Things I Finally Know About My Writing

A little piece I wrote. No pay, but the almighty EXPOSURE.

I’m giving this fine online website, which features writing and resources for women who write, the same exposure they’ve given me. What goes around comes around! ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy Monday!

  1. The bandage on the bird CRACKED me up. Great article, Ellie! I loved the Cherry Ames books, but couldn’t get all of them from the library, I don’t believe. Do you remember a big apple tree being shaken? I always think of that when I think of Cherry Ames. That and Mayor Lindsay for some reason. And I think that was because of something my mother said while I was reading a Cherry Ames book. Ah, memory is weird.

    1. It cracks me up too when I think back on it! ๐Ÿ˜€ I firmly believe Cherry Ames was the Harry Potter of our day, in terms of our addiction to them and feverish desire for the next volume… and the next. (They were all at my library, lucky me!) Don’t remember the apple tree, nor Mayor Lindsay! (Mayor Lindsay?? ๐Ÿ˜€ ) Lol, yes, memories can be weird, and I love them!

  2. Always good to be aware of one’s strengths and weaknesses, Ellie. Wait… did I say weaknesses? No, you don’t have any of those! Okay, I’m done buttering you up!!! Nice of you to give booksbywomen.org the same exposure they gave you. Hope it results in more book sales for you.

I remember the Hardy Boys series from when I was a kid. Frank and Joe always knew what to do!

Oh, and if I should ever need surgery, I’ll look in the Yellow Pages for a REAL surgeon! โค

  3. Wonderful exposure. Your photo was larger in that post than it appears on your blog. You have the merriest eyes! They don’t show up very well in the tiny versions. I’m going to look again, because I’m sure they are dancing on the screen ever so slightly.

  4. Very insightful Ellie! We learn more about you here. I love the fact that you admit having trouble with the “middle.” I think most great writers do. Clearly, you’ve solved that problem ๐Ÿ™‚ What an inspiration you are!

    1. Thanks so much, G! Hey, if I hadn’t learned anything by now, I’d be a real nincompoop, wouldn’t I?! Sayyy… I think that’s the first time I ever wrote that word down… Did I spell it right? ๐Ÿ˜€ Oh and thanks for lumping me in with “most great writers”! LOL I think there’s a case of mistaken identity here, but I’ll take it!!
